A South African Film Production Company Seeks for Actors
Rooftop Productions based in Port Elizabeth in South Africa have been commissioned to produce âThe Altarâ a 3-part drama miniseries based on real-life stories of child marriage. The aim of the series is to educate audiences about the harsh realities of child marriage through a compelling and entertaining narrative.
They are currently auditioning for the pilot short to be filmed 10th â 11th December 2019 in Port Elizabeth which will serve as an internal video.
Production filming will take place in May 2020 with the locations to be confirmed.

Synopsis:
The story follows the journey of 14-year-old Souris whose life falls apart as sheâs forced to leave school and marry Abiso, a family friend 40 years older than her. Sourisâ only hope is Ndidi, a kind, yet incredibly strong and resilient woman from the city who works for an organization which intervenes in child marriages â ensuring that girls can stay in school. The plot explores the tension around whether Ndidi will be able to rescue Souris from her abusive husband.
