Permits (Foreign productions)
Filming permits are issued by the National Film Authority to allow for foreign productions within Ghana. Foreign productions are required to acquire Filming Permits as issued prior to the shooting with details about location, date, time, equipment, personnel, special effects, actions and stunts.
A local film producer may be required to take additional filming permit on behalf of a foreign production company only in the case of âCo-productionâ
Permits within Permit:
Apart from acquiring a permit to film in Ghana, additional permits may be required to shoot at specific locations within the country. This is termed as âPermits within Permitâ. The requirements needed to secure such âpermits within permitâ may vary depending on the location.
The National Film Authority is aggregating all âpermits within permitâ to be easily accessible through this website. Kindly click on âshooting locationâ to choose from a wide range of locations for your productions. In a case where your preferred location choice cannot be found in the list provided, please feel free to make a request through info@nfa.gov.gh and we will be glad to assist you
